Regardless of the genre, the insatiable passion to write fills notebooks with drafts, computer files with stories, and sleepless nights with revisions. That said, the thought of pushing our little darlings from the nest is daunting even for the most seasoned of writers. With the current status of the publishing industry demanding selectivity in today’s market, rejection is expected. Hard to take, but expected.
Rejection letters can evoke the most negative of emotions – self doubt among them. Yet we persevere, querying to anyone willing to read our work. There are those bright lights along the way, the cause for this writing, such as Literary Agent Beth Campbell of BookEnds and The Knight Agency, who quite graciously return words of positive reinforcement. We, the Unpubs, thank you.
